Talk about making a wrong turn! In our quest to dare try different places, we got into Dubliner, hoping for nice breakfast. We enquired to whether they serve breakfast prior to getting in. The moment we got in, we knew we had made a mistake.
The place was stinking! The entire place smelt like a cigar parlour! Strong thick smell!! All the same we put up a brave face took the seats by the window, to get some respite from the punishing smell. After taking a seat we curiously looked at each other and the place around us.
The utensils were dirty (cups, spoons, plates, knives & forks!). Did I mention that they only serve 1 type of breakfast? They serve only ‘English breakfast’. We cannot complain about the service or the food itself, but a single menu for breakfast kinda sucks! After requesting for numerous change of utensils, we ended up cleaning the cutlery ourselves with tea! Yes, tea!!
The waiter was kind enough to let us know that breakfast was not a big thing there! And you could clearly see that they’re not breakfast specialists, only a good ol pub.
We were decidedly scarred by that experience and we will never go to Dubliner again and we look at other pubs that claim to serve breakfast with one eye.
I can safely say, we have not tried any other breakfast serving pub ever since!!
